Smallmouth Bass Fishing on Lake Erie
with Captain Mario Chance
Targeting Smallmouth Bass on the tributaries, shorelines, flats, and Harbors of Lake Erie. When the water begins to warm in the Spring, Smallmouth Bass being to migrate to the shallower waters of the lake, staging to spawn. This is when fly fishermen can capitalize on the opportunity to target these hyper aggressive fish on the fly. Chances at hooking Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Bowfin, Carp, Gar, White Bass, Steelhead, and much more, all on the fly!
Using 6-8 weight rods and reels, floating, intermediate, and sinking lines is the norm. Fly line choice will depend on water depth, water temps, and fly choice. Sight fishing and top water opportunities can offer very exciting fishing!
